All right, podcast marketers, I’ve got a question for you this week that has come to me a lot. Are you stuck? Do you feel like there’s something that you can’t quite get past or you know where you’re trying to go? You know that success that you’re trying to get, but you’re really not sure of that next step or what you need to do or you don’t quite have the tools or resources you need to get there? This episode is for you.
All right. Welcome back, folks. I’m Ben Krueger, and this is the Authority Engine TV Show. I’m dedicated to helping you grow your business using the power of podcast marketing every Thursday morning. I’m excited you’re here because we’ve got a fun one today. I’ve been getting submissions via email, submissions via Twitter for this one for a while, and I finally decided to do it because I think this will help you guys out quite a bit. The question here is, are you stuck? Do you feel like there’s â€¦ You know, you’re just not sure of that next step or you know kind of what the next step should be, but you’re not sure how to go about it. You don’t know kind of what that next piece is. Let’s dive into it.
There are three things that you can do to get unstuck. Obviously, there’s more, but these are the three that I highly, highly recommend. What it comes down to is one concept. Get help. Everybody thinks that, no, I’ve got to do it; this has got to be on me. They put a lot of pressure on themselves to get something done. Sure, you can figure it out. You can take that extra time and that extra effort and figure it out or wade through and figure out all the pieces and parts that don’t quite make sense, but why bother? Just skip it. Get help, and there’s three types of help that I’m going to recommend.
Number one, get a program or some type of training or education that helps you do exactly what you’re facing right now. I’m not talking general business management. I’m not talking general in any sense of the word. If you’re already placed with, let’s say, your podcast business or your business and you’re looking to bring on more high-end consulting clients, get training or education or some form of program specifically for how do I bring on more high-end consulting clients. Number one, get a program or training or something of that form that is the very next step of what you need. They can lay it out for you because they’ve already been through it. Why should you have to reinvent the wheel? Just use what you know works and use a proven system, which is exactly what these programs will teach you.
Number two. The other option here is to get a coach. I like this option very much. I currently have two business coaches, one more for my mindset and one more for my actual actions, so what are the actual things that I strategically do with my business to help grow it. What I recommend for you, is think about where you want to grow. Think about where you want to build your business and go out and start asking around for who the best coaches are, people who have already done some of the things that you want to do have used. Because you’re always looking for somebody who has already completed the tasks that you’re looking to do or something very similar, so they can come to you with some very specific advice on exactly how you can go through it.
Number three is find a mastermind group or create a mastermind group based around the topic that you want to do. Say you’re in consulting, again, you want to create or come up with a mastermind group of, let’s say, four to six people that are also in the consulting industry, some preferably who are a little bit further along than you, so that you can get some information. You can all help each other out.
A lot of times we get stuck in our own head; we’re not sure what that next step is or we kind of know what it is but we’re not confident enough to take that step like we need to. I encourage you to organize a mastermind group or start looking around for some that may already be out there. You can look in your local business groups. You can look in online forums and memberships and that kind of stuff. That is very, very useful and I encourage everyone out there to take a look at those.
Those are the three methods that you can get unstuck as quickly as possible and get moving in the right direction. I encourage you to take action on one of those three, because trying to figure it out yourself you’re just going to end up wasting a lot of time. You’re going to be really bummed, and then you’re going to end up doing one of those three later anyhow to get the real results that you really want.
