Welcome and today I’m going to be answering the question that I keep getting and that is how do I promote myself or how can I promote myself using a podcast? How can I promote my expertise or myself as a personal brand.
So I’m Ben Krueger and this is Authority Engine TV, where I am dedicated to helping you grow your business using the power of podcast marketing every Thursday morning.
Okay, so if you’re asking this question, your outlook is a little bit flawed to being with, and I’m going to tell you exactly why. If you’re trying to promote yourself in any form, that’s not going to be nearly as effective as going out and offering value, and helping in any way that you can to your clients, customers, audience, all of that. Because you’ve had to where a salesman comes to your door, knocks on your door, and they try to hard sell you on something. Well, you instantly get this icky feeling and you don’t want whatever the heck they’ve got to sell. Every once in a while, you know, they might make one in fifty or one in a hundred sales.
But what you want to do instead is offer value, so with your content, particularly with podcasting, you want to offer very high quality content, very high value content so make sure that it’s very interesting to your listeners and it’s based around your market space. So you want to make sure that your content is that helpful and you want to offer value. Then, you, as the person who is offering value, will automatically build up some stature, but then it’s also okay and you will want to do this. You will want to promote some of the things that you offer. So if you’ve written a book, if you have some kind of services, or membership programs, or products, or you just want people to subscribe to your show so they can get more of you and they can get more advice or value from you. You want to do thay.
So the key here is a value focus and not a you focus. So always driving people to where they can get more value from you, and if that’s a paid product, service or membership, that’s perfect.
